11:00am. Public Talk. Anti-poaching campaigns – defending the oceans from illegal fishing. The world over, illegal fishing has had a massive contribution to the depletion of delicate eco-systems. This is especially prevalent in the coastal waters of developing countries’. During this talk Sea Shepherd volunteers discuss the extent of illegal fishing and by-catch.
1:00pm. Public Talk. Protecting eco-systems – defending the Great Australian Bight. Our oceans are under threat from the impacts of climate change, among the causes are fossil fuels. In this talk Sea Shepherd volunteers discuss Operation Jeedara and Reef Defence, two of their main campaigns, at work to prevent new projects that will have significant destructive impact on our oceans.
