Fleurieu Marine Education

Fleurieu Marine Education are passionate marine scientists with extensive knowledge and experience of marine life.

Ali and Renee operate the educational programming and guided tours at the South Australian Whale Centre. They bring a wealth of knowledge to our education services. Ali has spent a large part of her life SCUBA diving in South Australian waters and has a PhD in marine science. Renee has sailed around the world and has a Bachelor of Marine Biology. She is also a qualified sailing instructor, with extensive SCUBA diving experience.

SELF DISCOVERY TOUR

Discover the magnificent underwater world at the South Australian Whale Centre. Take the time to immerse yourself in the peaceful surrounds of the gentle giants of the ocean with our self discovery tour of the South Australian Whale Centre.

GUIDED TOURS

Guided Tours of the South Australian Whale Centre run from time to time during peak holiday periods, running for approximately 30-60 minutes. One of the dedicated Fleurieu Marine Education guides will share intricate details of local whale species and behaviors. Learn about local whaling history and artifacts and immerse yourself in the world of these gentle giants.

All tour bookings cover entry to 2 floors of interactive and educational exhibits.

There are new school programs coming. Watch this space or email Fleurieu Marine Education for a full school program prospectus. With an average run time of 45 minutes to an hour, the unique education programs are delivered in the Fleurieu Marine Education Room. A purpose built classroom that caters for groups of up to 30 Children. Each class is tailored to suit different age groups from kindergarten to year 12 and all include hands on activities designed to help children process and retain information. All of our education programs are created in line with the South Australian School Curriculum. All education bookings cover entry to the South Australian Whale Centre.

school holiday programs

Each School Holidays Fleurieu Marine Education hosts a different school holiday program. These programs are designed to be both informative and fun, offering engaging content and hands on activities to get little ones excited about learning. Standard Rates for School Holiday Programs are $10.00 per Child. Children under the age of 4 must have an accompanying parent or guardian. Bookings for the school holiday programs are essential.

OSHC and Large group bookings

The Fleurieu Marine Education Team at SA Whale Centre offers it’s exciting School Holiday Programs to OSHC and large groups (at a 12 child minimum) Monday to Friday every school Holidays.
